Twitter prepares to transfer @POTUS handle to President-elect Joe Biden on Inauguration Day!!



According to a confirmation by Twitter to POLITICO news outlet, the United States presidential Twitter handle @POTUS will be automatically transferred to President-elect Joe Biden as soon as he takes the oath on Inauguration Day, irrespective of whether or not President Donald Trump concedes the defeat or not. The same will be applied to all accounts like @WhiteHouse @VP, @FLOTUS, and numerous other official accounts related to the presidency.

Responding via email, Twitter spokesperson Nick Pacilio said - "Twitter is actively preparing to support the transition of White House institutional Twitter accounts on January 20th, 2021. Just like the way we did for the presidential transition in 2017, the process will be the same this time as well in close cooperation with the National Archives and Records Administration."
